About Us

The Student Employment program is just one of many services provided to students through
the office of Career Services (Nestor Hall 108). We are dedicated to educating students
about the many employment opportunities on Columbus State’s campus and in the local
community through our Community Work Study program. We see student employment as an
opportunity for career and personal development as well as an aid toward college affordability.
We strive for each student employee to grow and develop as members of our local, national,
and global community while building skills for the professional world.

What do you like best about student employment?
It is a great way to make connections and friendships on campus. Plus, you never
know what you’ll learn. Who would have known my freshman job working sound equipment
for student activities would lead me to a career in higher education?"

What do you remember about your student employment experience?
"Being a student employee in the Office of Development at WSU gave me the opportunity
to build personal connections with alumni. As a Student Caller, I was able to raise
scholarship money for other students while improving my communication and leadership
skills."
