Cougar Conversation Partners Program
The Cougar Conversation Partners Program matches native English speakers with non-native English speakers as well as students learning a foreign language. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for individuals to practice language, share cultural heritage and gain confidence in the communication of thoughts and ideas. Participation in the Cougar Conversation Partners (CCP) Program is a great way to gain volunteer experience and to become or remain proficient as a language learner.
There are two ways you can be a Cougar Conversation Partner.
- You can be a volunteer and help students practice their English skills or another foreign language OR
- You can be a participant and request a volunteer to work with you on communicating in English or your desired language.
The Department of Modern Languages
The mission of the Department of Modern Languages at Columbus State Community College is to provide quality language programs which
enhance the personal and academic growth of students and other members of the community
so that they are better prepared to meet the challenges of the local and increasingly
global society
