Student Responsibilities

• Provide Disability Services with appropriate documentation of the disability
• Initiate requests for specific accommodations in a timely manner- preferably before the start of the quarter.
• Request materials you need in an alternate format before the start of the quarter
• Request Letters of Accommodation from DS. Click for a sample Letter of Accommodation
• Give Letters of Accommodation to instructors and discuss services needs for the quarter
• Schedule any quizzes/ exams you plan to take at DS with our Resource Center Desk.
• Notify DS/ your instructor if an accommodation is not being provided completely or correctly
• Notify DS/ your instructor if you decide not to use an accommodation you have requested/ scheduled for the quarter
• Act as your own advocate when communication and requesting your specific needs, services, and accommodations to faculty. If you need assistance in developing your advocacy skills, please contact a Disability Services Advisor.
