Wellness Classes & Intramurals

Columbus State Community College offers a wide variety of courses at convenient times throughout the year to aid in the development of our community. Keeping with that theme The Department of Athletics and College Recreation has open gym/recreation hours, intramurals, and a fitness center. The Department of Student Engagement and Leadership offers free fitness classes to all faculty, staff, and students of Columbus State. We encourage the use of our facilities and classes to help promote a healthier lifestyle. A current CSCC ID is required for all activities.

Spring 2012 Classes


All classes are located in Delaware Hall 158.

All classes are FREE to all CSCC students and are on a first come, first serve basis. Cougar ID required.

Mats are provided or you may bring your own.

There are no classes on Friday, April 20 or Monday, May 28.

 

YOGA  Specific stretching techniques to reduce stress, improve breathing, balance, & flexibility, and prevent injury.

Mondays: April 2– June 4, 12:00PM—1:00PM

Tuesdays: April 3—June 5, 5:30PM—6:30PM

 

SPINNING Cycling drills that varying speeds, resistance levels and intensities targeted at raising your heart rate and toning your lower body.

Mondays & Wednesdays: April 2—June 6, 1:00PM—2:00PM

 

AEROBICS  Step, kickboxing, basic movement patterns, and strength exercises.

Mondays & Wednesdays: April 2—June 6, 4:15PM—5:15PM

 

ZUMBA Latin inspired dance cardio fitness.

Mondays: March 26—June 4, 5:15PM—6:15PM

 

HULA HOOP Core training and exercises to tone and sculpt the arms and upper body. Hoops are provided.

Mondays: April 2—June 4, 2:00PM—3:00PM

 

PILATES Awareness of breath and spine alignment and aims to strengthen abdominal muscles.
