The mission of Staff Advisory Council is to serve with honesty and integrity as a liason for staff, representing their concerns and ideas to the administration while also fulfilling good works in the community and, in all things, representing the mission of the college.

S.A.C. will send out a survey to the College sometime in early May asking for your feedback on how we did this year and what you'd like to see from us going forward.

Development of Talent Bank continues to move forward.  It will identify special talents, degrees, certifications people have around campus which will be helpful for internal hiring & promotions.

Cougar Challenge

The Cougar Challenge 5K will be held at the Bridgeview Golf Course on April 28, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. SAC will be sponsoring in collaborations with HR, Sports and Exercise Studies, and various other departments on campus.  See us on Facebook!

 

Toys for Tots donations

Thank you for supporting the Marine Toys for Tots program.  More than 500 new toys were donated on both campuses and will be distributed to needy children by Christmas, close to $6,000 in value of toys and $290 in monetary contributions. Marine reservists John O'Keeffe and Abu Farah, and Susan Thomas of Staff Advisory Council coordinated the Columbus State drive.

Operation Feed: Breakfast for Winners

This year Columbus State participated in the Lunch Money campaign competition during June, coordinated by SAC, and came in second place out of 16 companies.  Employees were asked to donate what it would cost to buy lunch for a day, and CSCC raised $345.  Panera graciously donated a coupon to anyone who donated, as well as a meal to the top 3 organizations; Columbus State received a breakfast for 50.  The campaign has raised more than $170,000 to date in Ohio.

Cake Walk

Student, staff, and faculty participated in a Cake Walk on Thursday, May 5 from 11-2 in the Nestor Hall lounge to benefit Hunger Food Alliance, Holidays are for Kids, Mike Stancil's Employee Book Scholarship, and SAC.

In Service Day Raffle for MidOhio Food Bank

Thanks for supporting the MidOhio Food Bank at In-Service! Cans were donated and as a bonus raffle tickets were given away for massages, a Christopher's gift card, and concerts!

Chili Cook-off to Raise Funds for Charity

The Staff Advisory Council held a chili cook-off contest and bake sale to benefit several SAC charities, including the Hunger Alliance, the Employee Book Scholarship and Holidays are for Kids. The event was held Thursday, April 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Nestor Hall Student Lounge.

Staff Advisory Council Retreat

The Staff Advisory Council retreat is an annual opportunity in June for continuing and newly elected representatives to team build and become oriented with the mission and vision of the council. Any staff member is welcome to attend the retreat.
