Your Responsibility As a Motorist

As a motorist parking a vehicle on campus, it is your responsibility to:

PURCHASE A PERMIT. A parking permit authorizes you to park in any lot marked for student use. View the parking lot map.

DISPLAY A PERMIT. Each vehicle must have a valid permit properly displayed on it while on campus.

FIND AN AVAILABLE PARKING SPACE IN A DESIGNATED LOT. A parking permit does not guarantee the holder a specific parking space. You must park in an authorized parking lot for students and in the marked spaces.

Have on your person a valid driver's license, ensure that you have valid license plates, proof of insurance, and remember to abide by applicable college policies, state, and federal laws meant to protect you and others.

Tips For Parking On Campus

1. Read all parking signs before you park.

2. Allow enough time to park and get to your class or meeting.

3. Check the MAP for location of lots open for students.

4. Extra parking is available in Lot 28 on Mt. Vernon Ave., just west of Cleveland Ave., the CSCC Discovery Exchange bookstore, and Lot 32 (east side of the parking garage).

5. Remember, abide by policies, local, state and federal laws. Campus police are Ohio certified law enforcement officers empowered to enforce traffic and criminal laws. They also stand ready to assist you when needed.

6. Do not leave valuables in plain sight in your vehicle. Trunk storage is the best. Lock your doors and roll up the windows. Report anything suspicious to Public Safety at 614-287-2525.

7. Be prepared to park in the outer lots around campus due to the closer lots being full at peak times between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. Allow yourself extra time to walk in from these lots.

8. Be aware that special events, construction, or emergencies could close lots at any time. Be prepared to go to an alternate parking lot.

Any questions about parking, vehicle parking permits, temporary parking permits, handicap parking, or citations should be directed to the Department of Public Safety at 614-287-2525.
