Fast Facts

Academic Year: Four quarters, 11 weeks each. We are switching to semesters in Autumn 2012.

Class Size: Average class size is 19 students. Student-to-faculty ratio is 17:1.

Programs of Study:You can get a Career & Tech associate degree or certificate, which allows you to get a job quickly. We offer more than 120 associate degrees or certificates in areas of business, health, health/public services and engineering technologies. The college's Arts & Sciences Division allows students to complete the first two years of a bachelor's degree, which they can finish at another school.

Enrollment: 30,297 for Autumn 2010. That number includes two campuses and:

  • Suburban classroom enrollment: (Autumn, 2009) 6,422
  • Distance learning students (2008) 8,965

In addition, another 22,234 community members received training through Community Education and Workforce Development. That includes 7,950 who received custom training at their workplace, 1,826 who received "transitional workforce" training such as trades or GED, and 1,393 recent immigrants who got basic language training through the Language Institute.

Coverage zone: Columbus State serves Franklin, Union, Madison and Delaware counties.

Columbus Campus: The campus is located on more than 80 acres in Columbus' Discovery District. It includes a library, bookstore, cafeteria, two computer labs, several student lounges, a parking garage and several parking lots.

Delaware Campus: Columbus State's Delaware Campus opened in summer 2010, with its first class in Autumn 2010. The Delaware Campus offers a full slate of services such as advising and financial aid, as well as four complete degrees (for starters)

Off-Campus Centers

Columbus State operates 9 Off-Campus Centers in Dublin, Gahanna, Grandview, Grove City, Groveport, Marysville, Plain City, Southwest Columbus (Bolton Field) and Westerville.

Campus Life

Student Activities: Columbus State students participate in 45 student clubs, honor societies and organizations, including concert band, choir, sports teams, theater groups, and the student newspaper. Campus Life
