The 3rd Annual Quality Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, August 1 recognizing the winners of the Distinguished Teaching Awards, the Distinguished Full Professor Awards (new last year), the Staff Employee of the Year, and the Continuous Quality Improvement Team Awards 

College faculty are eligible for two awards -  Distinguished Teaching and Distinguished Full Professor recognition.

2010-2011 Quality Team Nominees

Fourteen teams from 10-11 silver aaround the school took up the quality improvement challenge.  Click on the projects below for all the details. 

Staff Employee of the Year

The 2010-2011 Employee of the Year, Maureen Erney, was recognized by the President from the twelve monthly award winners in the previous year. 

                                              


 2010 Quality Awards

Nominated by their students and selected by a committee of Master Teachers, the Distinguished Teaching Awards went to: Adam Keller, fulltime faculty 2010 emp of yearmember in the Physical Sciences who teaches organic chemistry; Bert Vonderahe, adjunct faculty member in Landscape Design/Build, who teaches Landscaping for Homeowners; John Wallace, fulltime faculty member in the Developmental Education Department who teaches mathematics; and Tina Berry, fulltime faculty member in the Nursing Department, who teaches primarily obstetrics and medical/surgical nursing.

The Staff Employee of the Year was selected by the President from the 12 monthly award winners in the previous year. Heather Crites, multimedia database web developer, took home the honors.10 dis teach

The Team Award debuted in 2010 to recognize teams that have enhanced or improved a process at the college. The gold medal went to the Testing Center team, which revamped the testing process to reduce waiting times for students from hours to minutes. Michelle Teasley, supervisor of the Testing Center, led the effort.

Silver medals went to the Credit Bank Conversion team and the H1N1 Vaccination team.
